First Bud

The first sasanqua (Camellia sasanqua) at Loch Ross has formed a bud that will soon blossom open.  Its golden stamens will attract hundreds of honeybees as one of the first pollen sources in the new year.  We eagerly await the trees-full of sasanqua blooms and the buzzing bees that will enjoy them - and, in time, their delicious honey.
