Thorny Relationship

A thistle by any other name would pierce as deep, or so the Bard would say. These thorn-bearers pop up and - given a chance - quickly take over otherwise suitable pasturelands. We understand how this determined flower is the national symbol of Scotland; its in-your-face (hopefully not literally) defiance says it all.

Ya know you can eat this when young. It is called Chandon and is a nice spring veggie once you peel the stems.
