Beauty Pageant

This ginormous beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) is over 10’ tall and lusciously leafy. If we continue to get weekly rain, it will more than live up to its name in late summer and throughout winter:  gorgeous LSU-purple pom-poms stacked vertically, in perfect timing for football season. Now, the lowering evening sun peeks through a rare empty spot to show its approval.  You rule, o beautyberry!
