Memento Mori

In the midst of celebrating the joyous arrival of lambs, we are also reminded of ashes to ashes, dust to dust. This juvenile great horned owl (Bubo virgianus) may have fallen from a nearby tree; the plaintive calls of such owls are sometimes heard around the loch.
