Ruling the Roost

These hens are apparently confused:  they’re acting like roosters. Perched 6’ up, they keep a watchful eye on the goings-on all around them.  From their window they can peer down into the yard to spy on the goats and their guard dogs. Meanwhile back in the henhouse, they also patrol their space to deter rats and other egg-thieves. Chick, chick, hooray!
