The Once and Future King

Though he hasn’t pulled out any sword from a stone (as far as we can tell), this monarch butterfly caterpillar (Danaus plexippus) is eating his way to forming a chrysalis. The green comet milkweed he uses as his sole food source is, fortunately, abundant in the farm meadows. You rule, green-striped caterpillar!
