The Pollinator

The Pollinator

The honey bees are out in force among the camellias, even on a cold, windy morning. This one has been dipping in the stamens and filling its legs with the bright “gold.” The time to and from the hive is consistent within a couple of seconds each round (we clocked their travels once and were impressed with their astonishing reliability!).  No need for medieval transmutations here: the gold pollen goes into golden, delicious honey!
